This is a modern caveman's balcony, actually a typical cave house in Cappadocia. The rocks are made of tuff stone. Digging holes into it is quite easy, but then you have to take constant care of your home. Otherwise erosion will destroy it soon. This area is especially famous for it's early Christian cave churches with colourful paintings. Since 1985 it's a cultural and natural UNESCO heritage site. There are still undiscouvered churches and underground cities, but apart from that the landscape is one of the most fascinating in the world.

It was shot in the late afternoon. Here you can't wait much longer, because all the rocks are in the shadow before sunset. The balcony itself with my friends was already in the dark shadow. For this part I used some other lighter shots. With Photoshop parts of the lighter images were blended into the dark areas, to get the light into the corner with my friends. They were talking very lively, which made it impossible to work with hdr. And also the blending method makes the image look much more natural.

I don´t know where it is exactly but it looks like i pass over that part with the balloon, would it be that possible? Is on that part of the route?

As this is in the heart of Cappadocia, 2km away from Goereme, I'm quite sure that you've seen it from the balloon. My location on the map should be very precise. Perhaps it helps to remember or to find the place on one of your shots from the balloon.

Thanks for the information Heiner. As i said superb job. With the HDR or enfuse we can achieve better pictures and sometimes much more natural.
