Levický hrad bol postavený v  13. storočí. Mal chrániť cestu do kláštornej pevnosti v Hronskom Beňadiku a do stredovekých banských miest. Bol viackrát prestavaný. Jadro hradu tvoril gotický palác a opevnenie s kruhovou baštou. V 16.-tom storočí sa stal jednou z pätnástich pevností, ktoré mali zastaviť tureckú inváziu.

Ruins of a Gothic castle, which was build in the beginning of 13th century. It was rebuilt in a Renessaince style in 16th century. He protected the way to the monastery strength Hronský Beňadik and the medieval mining towns.  In the 16th century it became one of fifteen forts, which had to stop the Turkish invasion. Nowadays, Tekov museumis located in preserved parts of the castle.
