The Plateau of Glieres was a famous site of the french Resistance mouvement during the second World War.  It was a kind of a natural bastion where the men of the maquis could protect themselves. The panoramas show one of approaches : le Pas-du-Roc, or - the « spanish path »,  so called in memory of a spanish republicaine resistant group that have joined Glieres by this way in february 1944.
