Lac Cai, on the northern curve of Lac Bay is one of the most popular beaches of Bonaire, and together with nearby Sorobon (on the other side of the bay), the only safe places to swim on the wild and rough east coast of the island. Lac Cai has swallow water, and locals come here on weekends and holidays to picnic, listen to music, and swim. The beach is known for piles of conch shells near the water's edge.
